BC Beer Awards & Festival Returns In November

From BC Beer Awards & Festival

Vancouver, BC (October 5th, 2022) – After a few years away, the BC Beer Awards and Festival (BCBA) is set to return for an 11th year on November 5, 2022, to the Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver. And folks, we’re so excited! This year we haved moved away from the traditional beer festival format, and are moving to full service, serving tall cans (473ml) across a number of style-focused bars throughout the venue (think IPA Bar, Lager/Pilsner Bar, Dark Beer Bar, etc). We’ve curated a great list of beers from 70 breweries across BC, plus some local ciders. A variety of non-alcoholic options are included in your ticket as well. This one-day event features both the BC Beer Awards Ceremony and a beer festival boasting more than 120 different beers! The beer menu will be provided when we make our online brochure available before the event.

Awards will be presented for 30+ beer categories plus top awards including Best in Show, the *NEW* CBC Judge’s Choice, Rookie of the Year, Brewery of the Year, Innovator of the Year and The Legend Award. Returning again is the Creative Industry Awards, recognizing breweries for crafting unique items and experiences that enhance the craft beer lovers’ brand awareness.

We’re pleased to be welcoming back our host, Stephen Quinn from The CBC. Food trucks on site will be courtesy of Between 2 Buns, and Top Rope Birria serving meat and veg-friendly options! Entertainment for the evening includes live music by local performer David Morin, a free-play arcade area provided by East Van Amusements, and lawn games. We’ve also got a few surprises we’re saving for the big day!

  • Pale Ale| Hazy Pale
  • Sour | Fruit Beer

GLASSWARE

We are not offering our traditional tasting festival format this year in an effort to reduce touch points throughout the venue. We understand our guests may still want to try smaller samples of beer – so we encourage our patrons to bring old tasting festival glasses from years past and share a few cans with friends!

THE SIDE ROOM

Join us in the side room for free-play arcade games, courtesy of East Van Amusements! That’s not all – we’ll have a super fun photo booth set up to capture all the fun times! Our coat check is once again being run by the good folks at  A Loving Spoonful.  A Loving Spoonful provides free nutritious meals and nutritional counseling to men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in the community.

BCBA MERCH

We will be selling an array of BCBA merch! Crew neck sweaters, toques, totes, and patches! Available for purchase beside our token booth in Auditorium B.
