Things seemed to be slowing down a bit last week in terms of beer events, but they’ve picked right up again this week, with beer festivals, tap takeovers, pairing dinners, and more!

Tonight, Smiths pub in Victoria is hosting a Prairies tap takeover, featuring a selection of hard-to-find beers from Nokomis, Brazen Hall, Malty National, Torque, Black Bridge, and 9 Mile Legacy.

If you missed the BC Beer Awards and want to know what all the fuss is about, Joe Wiebe is holding a tasting seminar on the award winners at Vessel Liquor in Victoria tonight.

On Friday, The White Whale in Courtney is hosting a Spinnakers tap takeover, where they will have 13 draught beers on offer, as well as a special cask. The same night, Session in Campbell River is also holding a Spinnakers tap takeover, with 4 taps and 4 casks.

If variety is what you are craving, the 24th annual Hopscotch Festival comes to the PNE in Vancouver on Friday. Along with craft beer, this tasting event features 350 different varieties of Scotch and other whisky, tequila, rum, gin, vodka, cider, wine, and food.

Saturday sees the first North Island Craft Beer Festival take place at the Campbell River Community Centre. The event will host 14 Vancouver Island breweries pouring 28 different beers.

On Sunday, Session in Campbell river is holding a Twin City brewmasters’ dinner. They will be serving up a four-course meal and the head brewer will be on site to talk about the beers and the brewery.

On Tuesday, CRAFT Kelowna is holding a Slackwater brewmaster’s dinner, where they will be serving 5 courses paired with 5 beers, accompanied by facts about the beers and brewery.

On Wednesday, Smiths in Victoria is hosting another tap takeover, this time featuring Courtenay’s brand new Ace Brewing.
