WB Panel presents ‘Evaluating Beer’: an educational evening of beer tasting

Just announced: on October 15th, Legacy Liquor Store and your favourite beer magazine are teaming up to present Evaluating Beer: An Evening with the What’s Brewing Tasting Panel.

Those who have attended before know that this is an evening of fun in which all beers are served “blind tasting” style. Guests get to debate the style of each beer tasted as we progress from lighter fare to heavier. Bonus points for nailing the actual beer served.

Attendees are given access to the proprietary tools our What’s Brewing Panel uses. This event is about education, sharing and fun, as we celebrate BC craft beer while learning about tasting. Full details | Register online →

West Coast IPA: The Tasting Panel Goes Old Skool

Speaking of that tasting panel: the Fall issue of our magazine features a look at a formerly-dominant but now semi-forgotten craft beer style: West Coast IPA.

Enough with the hazy, sweet and milkshakey New England brews. Which one of the six BC IPAs reviewed won this episode’s showdown? Hint: see the Beer Me BC beer review below in this email. Or just find out here →

Because we can never quite get a perfect vertical, one of the beers is not actually West Coast style. Want to know which one? Listen to our accompanying podcast over at Pacific Beer Chat, where Five Neat Guys talk about West Coast IPA. Listen now →
