Victoria-based brewery unveils updated branding to pay homage to the company’s history and Vancouver Island landscapes
Vancouver, B.C. — Vancouver Island Brewing will be showing off a new look this summer, with an updated logo, website and label designs. Although modern, the new branding pays homage to the company’s three-decade long heritage as well as to the beautiful landscapes of Vancouver Island. Designed by award-winning Vancouver-based advertising and design collective One Twenty Three West, all new core and seasonal products, including the Broken Islands Hazy IPA, Faller NorthWest Pale Ale, Islander Lager, Ukidama Lychee Saison and Twisted Stalk Blackberry Helles feature the brewery’s new branding, with more products slated to be changed over by fall 2018.
“2017 certainly wasn’t our best year,” said Chris Bjerrisgaard, Marketing Director, Vancouver Island Brewing. “We made some bold, albeit misguided moves in an attempt to inject new life into the Vancouver Island Brewing brand, which had been in decline for over five years. A number of mistakes were made along the way, and in November we made the decision to fix what we had broken, and recapture the spirit of the brand. As a result, what you see before you is the ‘New, new Vancouver Island Brewing’.”
From new additions to their core collection, including the bold citrusy Broken Islands Hazy IPA, classic hoppy Faller NorthWest Pale Ale and simple, clean Islander Lager, to summer seasonals like the flavourful Ukidama Lychee Saison, Twisted Stalk Blackberry Helles — a classic German beer with a blackberry twist, to the Tidal Series Grapefruit Agave Gose, Vancouver Island Brewing has a beer for every taste and adventure. And if you’re headed to the beach, out of town for the weekend, or simply can’t choose, their Everyday Carry Mix Pack (3x Islander Lager, 3x Faller NW Pale Ale, 3x Piper’s Pale Ale, 3 x Dominion Dark Lager) and Summer Outpost Mix Pack (3x Juan De Fuca Cerveza, 3x Ukidama Lychee Saison, 3x Twisted Blackberry Helles, 3x Broken Islands Hazy IPA) are available at select retailers. The Victoria-based brewery also features a newly renovated Tasting Room (2330 Government St., Victoria), open Tuesday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
