On the afternoon of Wednesday November 23rd, during a busy lunch hour, Spinnakers Brewpub suffered a fire in the upstairs taproom. Staff were calm and assertive as they escorted patrons from the building and thankfully, no one was harmed. Victoria fire fighters and police arrived on scene quickly and acted fast to contain the flames.

First and foremost, we are thankful that there were no injuries to patrons, staff or emergency crew. Unfortunately, parts of this iconic Heritage building and much of the interior suffered extensive damage from fire, smoke and water. The restaurant will be closed until further notice.

We would like to take this time to sincerely thank the brave firefighters and emergency crew who helped contain and minimize the damage. Outreach from the local area and far beyond was overhwhelming, and a true testament to what Spinnakers means to the community. We cannot thank you enough for the kind messages, words of encouragement and generosity through this disheartening time.

On a brighter note, the brewery and equipment will be operational soon, and we will continue to brew and distribute our beer across the province. The guesthouses are fully operational and the front desk is open and fully stocked with beer for sale, as well as all your favourite treats, truffles and soon to come, baked goods. All merchandise will be available at 50% off while supplies last!  Restorative measures are well under way in the restaurant and we look forward to making Spinnakers better than ever.
