Old Yale Brewing Hosts Full Weekend Of Entertainment In Support Of A Great Cause

Chilliwack, BC – Old Yale Brewing, a craft brewery based in BC’s adventure playground, Chilliwack, continues to blaze new trails using their 20+ years of successful brewing (including Canadian Brewing Awards “Beer of the Year” win for their Sasquatch Stout in 2014). Today, Old Yale Brewing announced; “Old Yale’s Weekend for the Kids”, a full weekend of entertainment in support of a great cause in Chilliwack.

With the community facing self-isolation and quarantine during the current Pandemic, Old Yale Brewing has been working to develop innovative ways to bring craft beer and entertainment to their customers while ensuring their taking all the precautions necessary to keep their staff and customers healthy and safe, including home deliveries, working with New Wave Distilling to create hand sanitizer and offering live music every Saturday through their Facebook page.

Continuing on with that, Old Yale Brewing is bringing a full weekend of online entertainment to their community, all in support of a great local initiative working to feed 340 families in the brewery’s own backyard, Chilliwack.

“As soon as we learned about this great initiative working to support families in Chilliwack, we knew we had to do something big to support it. Our “Weekend for the Kids” is allowing us to continue being a big supporter of local musicians and artists in the community and bring our customers together “virtually” during this new time of self-isolation, offering just a little bit of normalcy while raising our pints and funds for such an important cause” – Heather Perdue, Marketing Manager

From April 17 – 19, 2020, Old Yale will be hosting “Old Yale’s Weekend for the Kids” online through their Facebook page featuring local comedian and actor; Cliff Prang on Friday night, local musician Johnny Bootleg and Vancouver’s Jordan Klassen on Saturday night and virtual Trivia with IQ2000 on Sunday.

Weekend schedule:

  • April 17: Cliff Prang (7pm) on Old Yale’s Facebook
  • April 18: Johnny Bootleg (6:15pm-6:45pm) and Jordan Klassen (7pm-8pm) on Old Yale’s Facebook
  • April 19: Trivia with IQ2000 (7pm-9pm), here: https://www.twitch.tv/iq2k

All weekend, Old Yale Brewing will be encouraging anyone that takes part in and/or watches to make a donation through their website to support a great local program put together by the Chilliwack Salvation Army, Bowls of Hope Society, Starfish Backpack Program and Chilliwack Community Services among others, working to fund and put together hampers for 340 families in Chilliwack whose children are normally supported through their school’s breakfast and lunch programs but are unable to be due to COVID-19.

“Over the years, we’ve always prided ourselves on working hard to support our community, especially those who are in need. During the current Pandemic, we are trying to view everything as an opportunity. An opportunity to change and improve our business practices, our people, as well as the ways we show up for our community. This weekend will be an incredibly entertaining and fun experience for everyone, and we expect to raise much needed funds for an incredible community initiative that is supporting families in need.” – Zach Van Leeuwen, Managing Partner.

Old Yale Brewing will be matching all donations made through their website and are also offering a few prizes to encourage more donations including $150 to spend on their online store for beer, apparel or merchandise with local delivery and a 1-night stay for 2 at Manning Park Resort to use when the current situation has passed us.
