Keithmas and Slow Hand Beer Company Announce the release of Keefs
13 must be our lucky number because we are back and coming in hot with the Thirteenth Annual edition of the world’s longest running (and possibly only) Keith Richards themed Christmas party, Keithmas. December 17th, at the fabulous Rickshaw Theatre. With over $130,000 and counting raised to date for the Greater Vancouver Foodbank, this year is going to be another rocker!
While the Keithmas fun can’t come soon enough we have an extra special announcement to whet your appetites until the big day. Keithmas and Slow Hand Beer Company have joined together to produce Keefs, a Keithmas Beer!
Kurtis Sheldan, one half of the Slow Hand Beer Company explains the origin. “We’d been toying with the idea of making a classic American lager (think Coors Banquet) for some time, so when I saw the Keithmas boys post that iconic pic to their socials of Keef standing at his amp with a bottle of Jack (natch) and a few tins of Coors Banquet sitting atop it, I KNEW we had our chance! We got together at Keithmas HQ, and after a chat over a few pints history was made and Keefs – the now Official Keithmas Beer – came to life! Sourcing ultra-premium malt from Skagit Valley Malting in Washington and hops from the Yakima Valley to craft an American-style lager, we turned quality and balance up to 11. The Keefs label draws heavily from those Coors tins from 1972, and the beer is nice and simple, just the best version of the style ever.”
And on Thursday Dec 1st, it’ll be time for a little ‘Country Honk’ at The Heatley, when Vancouver will get to taste history being made at the Keefs launch party! Long time Keithmas performer Elliot C. Way will be spinning a Stones-heavy DJ set and treating us to a few live tunes, plus special guests.
You’ll also find Keefs available at Keithmas on Sat Dec 17, and in limited quantities at finer liquor stores in the Lower Mainland. Keefs is also available through BeerVan (home deliveries Tues-Fri in Vancouver, with Richmond /Burnaby /NewWest / North Van on Thursdays). A portion of proceeds from every can of Keef’s will benefit the Greater Vancouver Food Bank so join us LIVE and in person at the Rickshaw Theatre for the show of the year!

First year unfortunately but my wife and sister in law and I thoroughly enjoyed the line up of home grown talented bands and will try very hard to make it an annual event thanks to all for a truly kick ass nite and the keef beer slayed as well !!!
Was it just me or is there a hint of burnt cigarette in the aftertaste of Keef’s Lager?
