It’s definitely wet hop season right now, with fresh hop festivals this weekend on both The Island and Lower Mainland. In fact, I’ll be down in Seattle at a fresh hop festival this weekend!

On the Mainland, Fuggles & Warlock is holding their Return of the Fresh Hop fest from Friday to Sunday,  featuring 16 local fresh hop beers (8 rotating taps) throughout the weekend.

If you are on The Island, head to Victoria for Fresh to Death, which features over 20 fresh hop beers from some of the Island and Lower Mainland’s best breweries.

When the festival wraps up, pop over to The Drake, who are hosting a launch event for Liquid Art Supply’s new European beer line, where they will be pouring beers from The Wild Beer Co (UK), Pohjala (Estonia), and Brewski (Sweden).

At the same time, Moody Ales is celebrating their 5th anniversary with a birthday bash at the brewery. They will have special beers, food trucks, live music, and a few surprises.

On Tuesday, Legacy Liquor in Vancouver is hosting Evaluating Beer: An Evening with the What’s Brewing Tasting Panel. Come down and join our panel for a blind tasting evaluation of five BC beers.

Looking ahead to next week, Thursday and Friday brings the BC Craft Brewers Conference to Vancouver ‘s Harbour Convention Centre. This two-day educational and networking event is an annual highlight for industry insiders.

Then next Saturday the 10th annual BC Beer Awards comes to the Croatian Cultural Centre in East Vancouver; however, tickets for this one sold out a long time ago!
