This week sees the BC Craft Brewers Conference and BC Beer Awards hit Vancouver, the start of Penticton Beer Week, and much more. Sadly I can’t make it to the BCBAs, so try and have fun without me!
Today and tomorrow brings the BC Craft Brewers Conference to Vancouver’s Harbour Convention Centre. This two-day educational and networking event is an annual highlight for industry insiders.
Tonight, Brewhall in Vancouver is hosting a Sunshine Coast tap takeover, featuring 10 beers and ciders from Townsite, Persephone, 101 Brewhouse, Tapworks, and Brickers.
On Friday Night, the Official BC Beer Con after party is taking place at the Maritime Labour Centre, featuring canned beers, food trucks, skills testing, and live music.
At the same time, Biercraft in East Van is hosting a BC Craft Beer Month tap takeover, featuring four beers each from House of Funk, Île Sauvage, Slackwater, and Strange Fellows.
On Saturday the 10th annual BC Beer Awards comes to the Croatian Cultural Centre in East Vancouver; however, tickets for this one sold out a long time ago!
In Victoria on Saturday, Smiths pub is hosting a tap takeover curated by Cook St Liquor, featuring several taps from some of BC’s best breweries.
If you indulge a little too much at the BCBAs, head to Brewhall on Sunday morning, for a buffet-style brewers brunch and BCBA Judges Choice Tap Takeover.
On Sunday night, The Nest & Nectar in Penticon is hosting a Neighbourhood Brewing tap takeover to kick off the 1st annual Penticon Beer Week. Festivities continue with a Highway 97 tap takeover at Barking Parrot on Tuesday, and a Brewer’s Showdown event at Cannery on Wednesday. Check back next week for more!
