There’s a great variety of events happening this week, we’ve got two brewery birthday bashes, a winter beer celebration, a barrel-aged beer night, a new brewery tap takeover, and a classical music & beer pairing event to chose from!
Tonight, Bakery Brewing in Port Moody is holding a special event to showcase their barrels-aged beers. There will be 9 different barrel aged beers on tap and 6 in bottles. they will even have barrel-aged cider and water!
On Friday, Joe Wiebe is curating a rather unique event at The Port Theatre in Nanaimo, where he will be pairing five craft beers with baroque music of the same regional origin. Then next Friday, he’s doing another session at the Baumann Centre in Victoria.
On Saturday and Sunday, one of my favourite annual events, Winterbrau, returns to Canoe Brewpub for its 8th year. This all-inclusive celebration of local seasonal beers and fine foods features a large list of beers from 25 BC breweries and small plates from the Canoe kitchen. While the Saturday session is now sold out, there’s still a few tickets left for Sunday. Don’t sleep on it!
In Port Moody on Saturday, Twin Sails is throwing a 4th anniversary party. At this drinks-inclusive ticketed event, they will be poring 10 new beers, a selection of vintage stouts and wild ales, and a few beers from their friends.
In Chemainus on Saturday, Riot Brewing is celebrating their third anniversary with special casks and infusions, live music, and more.
In Kitsilano on Saturday, Darby’s is hosting a tap takeover to celebrate Penticton’s Neighhood Brewing coming to Vancouver. They will be pouring 4 beers, be giving away swag, and more.
