Consider this a tentative list of events for the coming week. With all of the cancellations going on right now, I can’t guarantee that all of these will go ahead. If you do go out, please don’t go sharing samples, clinking glasses or shaking hands!

Victoria Beer Week continues tonight with their Pucker Up sour beer event at Garrick’s Head Pub, plus a beer school event on wild ales at Île Sauvage Brewing.

Friday brings an all new event called Lager Than Life to the Victoria Public Market, showcasing a wide range of lagers from dark and malty to crisp and hoppy with everything in between. [cancelled]

Victoria Beer Week wraps up on Saturday with Brewmasters Brunch at Swans in the morning, a beer school event on gruits and ancient ales at Argyle Attic in the afternoon, and last but not least, the closing cask night at the Victoria Public Market in the evening. [cancelled]

In Vancouver, Dogwood Brewing is set to celebrate their 5th anniversary on Saturday. They will have happy hour pricing all day to mark the occasion, special beers on tap, and cake!

The same day, Darby’s Pub in Kitsilano is hosting a Field House Brewing tap takeover, where they will be pouring five new and seasonal brews from Abbotsford’s finest.

Meanwhile, Abbotsford gets the first annual Gnarly Barley Brew Festival, featuring breweries from across the Fraser Valley, plus live music and entertainment to run throughout the evening! [postponed]

On Tuesday, Joe Wiebe is hosting a seminar on sour beer at Vessel Liquor in Victoria, where he will guide attendees through 8 tart and sour beers while providing tasting notes and insights into the style.

On Wednesday, Session Taproom in Campbell River is hosting a Brewmaster’s dinner featuring a unique four-course menu to be paired with a different beer for each course from Gladstone Brewing and New Tradition Brewing.

Next Saturday is Péché Day! On this wonderful day, head to either The Drake in Victoria or Darby’s in Kitsilano to sample several variants of this amazing coffee Imperial stout from Dieu du Ciel, as well as a special imperial coffee lager.
