Oh man, this is going to be a busy week, especially for those of us on the Island. I might need to take a week of vacation once Victoria Beer Week wraps up!

On Friday, Victoria Beer Week lifts off with a special tasting event at the Public Market at the Hudson, where you have a chance to sample 12 brand new, unreleased beers from some of BC’s finest craft breweries. See the list here.

The same night, the Drake is hosting their annual Magnificent Six event, celebrating beers from the breweries that supported them from the start: Dageraad, Four Winds, Steel & Oak, Moody Ales, Powell, and Brassneck. Several head brewers will be in attendance and the beer will be flowing!

Vic Beer Week continues on Saturday morning with the Greg Evans Memorial Walk and continues into the evening with All About the Wood—a fantastic event that celebrates wood-aged ales, including sours, barley wines, imperial stouts, wild ales, and more.

In between those, make sure to head back to The Drake for their Engine House No. 9 BC relaunch party. Sales manager (and assistant brewer) Donovan Stewart will be in attendance and they will have tons of E9 beers on tap.

If you aren’t on the Island, check out the 5th annual Coquitlam Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, or get your learning on with a Cicerone® BeerSavvy Bootcamp led by led by Advanced Cicerone Crystal Luxmore at CRAFT Beer Market in Vancouver.

Vic Beer Week continues on Sunday morning with a Homebrew Workshop at Moon Under Water, followed by a 5-course beer pairing dinner at Spinnakers called Public’s Picks.

Monday brings the Vic Beer Week Ultimate Craft Beer Quiz at Fernwood Inn, while Tuesday evening sees a food pairing Beer School event at Île Sauvage and the Taco Tuesday pairing event.

On Wednesday, Smiths Pub is hosting a Persephone Brewing tap takeover, there’s a wild ale Beer School event at Île Sauvage and the In the Spirit of Beer beer cocktail event.
