We’ve got two big outdoor beer festivals coming up this weekend. Hopefully the sun makes an appearance, but take an emergency umbrella, because it’s been that kind of summer!

On Friday, Bells & Whistles in Vancouver will be hosting the official Farmhouse Fest kickoff event. They will have 16 taps pouring farmhouse ales from some of North America’s top breweries.

Up in Squamish, Backcountry is holding a rare brews and BBQ event on Friday night (then again on Saturday night). They will be featuring amazing beers from across the province, a barbecue, and DJs.

Saturday the 5th annual Farmhouse Fest to the idyllic UBC working farm. Sadly, the event sold out a long time ago, so I won’t tease you too much about what you are missing out on!

If you didn’t get tickets for FHF, worry not, because there still tickets left for Squamish Beer Festival on Saturday. They’ll have 55 craft breweries and cideries, food trucks, games, DJ’s, live music, axe throwing… because who doesn’t like being around alcohol and people hurling sharp objects?

On Saturday night, The Magnet in Vancouver is hosting a tap takeover by Portland’s acclaimed Great Notion Brewery. No details yet on what beers will be pouring, but these guys make phenomenal beers, so don’t miss out!

On Sunday, Steel & Oak Brewing in New Westminster is holding a 5th anniversary party in their parking lot. They’ll have anniversary beers, special releases, cellar beers, Big Day BBQ, DownLow Chicken Shack, and much more!

Looking ahead to next Thursday, Brewhall in Vancouver is going to be celebrating their 1st anniversary. They’ll have special releases $5 Brewhall beers, a BBQ, and live music.
