We’ve got a some interesting events this week: dogs & beer, cheese & beer, tattoos & beer, whales & beer… OK, that last one is a bit of a stretch!

Tonight, Victoria’s new Refuge Taproom is finally opening for business. While they open to the public at 6 pm, Victoria Beer Society members can get in for a sneak peek at 4 pm.

Saturday brings Vancouver Island Brewery’s Podfest beer garden to Victoria’s Breakwater Barge. This two-session event to launch their new Pod Pack features beers from all participating breweries and $5 of the ticket price goes to Pacific Salmon Foundation.

Also on Saturday, Moon Under Water in Victoria is holding Dog Days of Summer. The day will feature a dog show, a BBQ, a new sour beer launch, and tons of barrel-aged beers from their cellar.

In Kelowna on Saturday, check out the Okanagan Tattoo Show & Brewfest. They’ll have 10 BC breweries, live performances by stoner rock bands, and of course, tattoos.

On Sunday, the 3rd annual Cheesecrafters Beer Fest takes place in Maple Ridge. This all inclusive event features local breweries, cideries, and restaurants, as well as beer & cheese pairing, live music, games, and prizes.

Next Wednesday, Curious Cafe in Kelowna is hosting a Brasserie Dunham tap takeover. They’ll have six taps pouring and Dunham’s owner will be there. The next night, the event will be repeated at Red Beard Cafe in Kamloops, with even more taps!
