We’ve got a big week ahead, filled with tap takeovers, beer gardens, an anniversary, and also a special night to celebrate the life of the late John Mitchell. Be sure to head out and a raise a pint in his honour!
Tonight, Brewhall in Vancouver is going to be celebrating their 1st anniversary. They’ll have special releases, $5 Brewhall beers, a BBQ, and live music.
At the same time, Darby’s Gastown is holding a Boombox Brewing tap takeover. They’ll have three brand new releases available (including two sours) and three returning favourites.
Over in Kelowna, Train station pub is hosting a Wild Ambition tap takeover. They will be presenting several wild, sour, and funky beers from this local mixed-fermentation focused brewery.
On Friday night the Victoria Beer Society is holding the first of their summer pop-up beer gardens in Victoria’s Centennial Square. They’ll have 18 taps of BC craft beer, local bands, and food trucks. This event will recur most Fridays throughout July and August.
On Saturday night, Smiths pub in Victoria is hosting a Brewer’s Row tap takeover. They’ll have a number of taps dedicated to beers from Twin Sails, Yellow Dog, Parkside, and Moody Ales.
On Sunday, the Red Racer taphouse on Beatty is holding a special celebration of life for John Mitchell. They’ll have some very appropriate casks and kegs on offer from BC breweries and proceeds from every $5 beer will go directly to the John Mitchell Scholarship, benefiting KPU Brewing and Brewery Operations school in Langley.
Looking ahead to next Thursday, Victoria’s newest beer spot, Refuge Tap Room is opening its doors to provide Victoria Beer Society members with a special sneak peek. This is a member only event, so if you want to go, be sure to sign up and RSVP before hand.
