Can you believe it is time for Victoria Beer Week (VBW) again? Time flies! Needless to say this is going to be a busy week for me. Send thoughts and prayers.

Tonight, 328 Taphouse in View Royal is hosting an unofficial VBW kickoff with a 6 Hoyne beers on tap, including a mystery beer.

On Friday, Andina in Vancouver is celebrating their 2nd anniversary with live music, authentic South American food, and beer.

On Saturday, Twin Sails in Port Moody is hosting a mini imperial stout and barleywine festival, with multiple vintages of their beers on tap, along with guests.

Also on Saturday, Spinnakers in Victoria is hosting a mini cider & beer cask festival, with all casks infused with flavourful fruits harvested last season by the Fruit Tree Project.

This year’s VBW kicks off on Friday night with their tent pole event, Lift Off, showcasing 15 brand new, unreleased beers from some of BC’s finest craft breweries.

Saturday night brings, All About the Wood, featuring 35 wood aged beers,  including sours, Brett-conditioned beers, barley wines, imperial stouts, wild ales, and others.

Next Wednesday brings Pucker Up, where you can sample 20+ tart beers from BC’s finest purveyors of sours. Bring some Tums!

Events close out on the 9th with Saturday Night Casks, featuring a selection of 25+ unique cask-conditioned from amazing BC Breweries.

If you are looking for something beyond just beer, they also have tons of great food-centric events and a number of beer education seminars, including an introduction to the Cicerone programme presented by Advanced Cicerone Stephane Turcotte.
