Love is in the air! Well, the love of beer at least! This week we have two brewery anniversaries, a couple of festivals, a beer week, and a romantic evening with The Thirsty Writer. 😍

Tonight, in honour of Valentine’s Day, Joe Wiebe is hosting a beer & chocolate event at Vessel Liquor in Victoria. Local chocolatier Taylor Kennedy of Sirene Chocolate will be in attendance to help guide people through eight samples of beer paired with eight different chocolates. 

On Saturday, Off the Rail Brewing in Vancouver is celebrating their 5th anniversary. To mark the occasion they will have a special cask, brewery tours, a second bar, food trucks, and games.

That same day, Trading Post is celebrating four years of business. They will have four new beer releases, a special food menu, live music, giveaways, and more.

On Sunday, the Strathcona Hotel in Victoria is hosting the 11th annual Island Beer & Spirits Festival at Distrikt nightclub. This uber-local event showcases beers, ciders, and spirits exclusively from Vancouver Island.

In North Vancouver on Sunday, Wildeye Brewing is holding their first collab beer fest. The event will showcase six collaborations with Fieldhouse Brewing, Persephone Brewing, Land and Sea,The Beer Farmers, North Point Brewing, and Container Brewing, plus each brewery will be pouring a selection of their own beers.

Sticking in North Van, Monday brings a Family Day brewery crawl organized by the Shipyards Brewery District. Tickets include a 16oz pour at Beere Brewing, Green Leaf Brewing, House of Funk Brewing, North Point Brewing, and Streetcar Brewing.

Next week, Nanaimo celebrates its annual beer week with a number of events throughout the city. Things kick off this Saturday with a launch party at Cliffside Brewing, then you can look forward to highlights like Barrel Bash on Wednesday, Bruges Brothers on Thursday, Casks in Hand on Friday, It’s Getting Hop in Here on Saturday, and more!
