April 4, 2019

In true April fashion, it looks like we have a few rainy days ahead of us. Luckily, all of this week’s featured events are held indoors, so you can take shelter from the weather while enjoying a few drinks with friends.

Tonight, head to Faculty Brewing in Vancouver for a BC Beer Wars event to help raise funds for the non-for-profit East Side Boxing Club. There will be experimental beers, cocktails, and a chance to meet Faculty’s contenders.

On Friday, the Nanaimo Kinsmen are holding their 2019 beer festival. They will have 20 breweries and cideries from The Island, Lower Mainland, and even one from Yukon. All proceeds go to the Nanaimo Kinsmen in support of the community’s greatest need.

On Saturday, Big White Ski Resort in Kelowna is hosting their 3rd Annual Ales & Après beer festival. This event is spread across all the bars and restaurants on the mountain and showcases 50+ brews from 20+ breweries and cideries across BC, Canada, and the world.

Also on Saturday, the BC Craft Brewers Guild is holding their 5th annual Beer League BASH at Britannia Community Ice Rink in Vancouver. The event features 5 brewery teams battling it out on the ice in a round-robin tournament, with 25+ local craft breweries serving cans on the rink concourse.

Looking ahead to next week, make sure to pick up tickets for the 24th annual Okanagan Fest of Ale. Held at the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre on April 12 and 13, this event features over 200 craft beers and artisanal ciders from 75 exceptional BC based craft breweries and cideries.
