Oh man! Is it really the start of May? Hopefully this time next month I will have some actual in-person events to talk about here, but I’m not holding my breath.

This afternoon at 16:00, Central City / Red Racer head brewer Gary Lohin is live streaming a special Q&A from their taproom via Facebook.

Tonight at 18:00, North Island College on Vancouver Island is holding a free info session for the new Brewing and Malting Program at their Comox campus starting in September. They‘ve designed the first three courses to be online only so anyone could register. The second year will be a complete program with the practical courses. This course was developed by Adam Chatburn of Real Cask, CAMRA Vancouver, and What’s Brewing fame!

At the same time, the BC Ale Trail is holding their another Virtual Happy Hour on their Instagram channel. This week’s event will be hosted by Liam Peyton, GM & Marketing Manager at Slackwater Brewing.

Then at 19:00, Another Beer Co in New Westminster is holding a live trivia night, streamed straight from the brewery on Instagram and Facebook live! There’s even prizes to be won!

At 19:30 CAMRA Victoria is holding its fifth watch party. The watch party page has a chat feature that allows everyone to talk to each other, plus you can use your webcam, (or front facing camera on a smartphone/tablet,) to see your fellow members and give ‘digital’ cheers.

Tomorrow night at 18:30, Aaron from the the Cascadian Beer Podcast is hosting his Stay Home Pub Quiz, featuring a few rounds of questions, along with some exciting guest hosts for the rounds.

On Monday at 19:00 Tapworks Brewing will be livestreaming their Monday night trivia via Zoom. Check their Facebook page for the link.

On Tuesday at 17:00 KPU is holding an online information session to learn about the variety of careers in the industry and KPU’s Brewing & Brewery Operations Diploma. During the sessions, you’ll hear from a KPU Brewing instructor and get a virtual tour of our state-of-the-art teaching brewery. The session will include an overview of the curriculum, admission requirements, portfolio submissions, instructor bios, tips on how to be successful in the program, and more.
