If you are a craft beer fan in Vancouver or the Interior, then you have a busy week ahead of you. We’ve got tap takeovers, beer launches, birthday parties, and a full-on beer festival. Check out this week’s top picks below.

If you are looking to whet your appetite for the Fest of Ale this weekend, there are two warm-up events taking place in Penticton tonight. First up, is the 2nd annual Strange Brew at Craft Corner Kitchen, where several brewers from the festival will be pouring one-time brews. Over at Bad Tattoo Brewing, Joe Wiebe will be hosting an evening where he will be discussing stories behind 6 of his favourite BC beers.

Friday brings the main event, as the 24th annual Okanagan Fest of Ale kicks off at the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre. Taking place on Friday night and Saturday day time, this event features over 200 craft beers and artisanal ciders from 75 exceptional BC based craft breweries and cideries.

On Saturday, Boombox Brewing is celebrating its third anniversary with an event at Paradise. They will be pouring their new beer along with a number of classics and a few choice brews from their friends.

Saturday also brings the BC Beer Wars at the Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver. Spend the night watching fights while having a pint and raising money for a good cause!

On Monday night, Phillips Brewing is holding a release party for their 2019 Benefit Brew in their tasting room, where they will be tapping kegs of both this year’s BC and Alberta fundraiser beers.

On Wednesday night The Cascade Room in Vancouver is hosting a Parallel 49 tap takeover with 6 kegs of beer, including a couple of new and lesser seen brews.
