Starting the week of Wednesday September 25th we are lining our taps with German-style beers and Provisions Kitchen & Catering will be serving Bavarian inspired fare to celebrate Oktoberfest!
All week we will be pouring a special: BESONDERE STICKE BIER “ALTBIER” – 5.5% ABV, 41 IBU: A special Altbier-style from Dusseldorf which is dark copper to light brown in colour with dark fruity notes on the palate, noble hop aromas, a crisp bitterness and smooth malty finish. Boom.
We’ll also have a couple delicious guest kegs from our neighbours:
Tree Brewing Beer Institute : “RUM BARRELLED BOCK” – 7.1%, 20 IBU: ‘A set of barrels began on the island of Martinique, aging rum for 15 years at Rhum JM. They then made their way to Kelowna where they were filled with Whisky from Okanagan Spirits. And now finally a Bock from the Beer Institute has been soaking up all of that history. Smooth and malty with a rounded sweetness of rum and oak.’
Vice & Virtue Brewing Co : NOTLÜGE “ALSATIAN LAGER” – 5.5%, 27 IBU: ‘The Alsace-Lorraine region has had a turbulent history, changing hands several times between Germany and
France. This German Helles Exportbier, is made entirely with French Strisslespalt hops, and the finest German Barke Pilsner malt. Triple decocted, and fermented with a famous German Lager strain. This delicious, golden coloured beer is the perfect balance of slight malt sweetness, & amp; subtle spicy, floral, herbal notes, with an undercurrent of citrus and fruit.’
