This is official notice to all members of the Campaign for Real Ale Society of British Columbia’s Annual General Meeting for 2018, to be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018, from 1300 to 1500 hours (1 pm to 3 pm) Pacific Standard Time (PST), at McKinney’s Pub, 6251 Yew Street, Powell River, British Columbia.

All CAMRA BC members “in good standing” (unexpired membership as of March 17, 2018 are welcome to attend the AGM. There is no cost to attend the meeting itself.

Call for Nominations

This is the official call for nominations for the CAMRA BC Executive for 2018. The following positions for the CAMRA BC board are open for nominations:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

Further information about the responsibilities and duties of each position can be found in the society’s bylaws on the website (www.camrabc.ca)

The other members of the CAMRA BC board for 2018 are the presidents from each of the CAMRA BC branches. Those members will already have been determined, through branch elections completed prior to the BC AGM, so further nominations and voting is not required for those positions at the CAMRA BC AGM.

Nominations are open as of February 1, 2018, and will close at 11:59 pm PST on February 28, 2018. Nominations must be submitted via email to ac.cbarmacobfsctd@snoitanimon. Nominations submitted after the cut-off date will not be considered or accepted.

To nominate someone, both you and the person being nominated must be current CAMRA BC members in good standing. The person being nominated must also agree to being nominated for that position. You may nominate yourself for a position.

Names of nominees for each position will be posted as soon as possible after the close of the nomination period.

If there is only one nomination for a position, the person will be acclaimed and declared elected by the Nominations Chair, Martin Williams, at the AGM.

Voting

If there is more than one nomination for a position, it will be necessary to conduct a vote to determine the outcome. Votes, by way of email, will be accepted between March 5, 2018, 0900 PST and March 15, 2018, 11:59 pm PST.

Each member in good standing is entitled to one vote per membership number. Additional votes attached to/using the same membership number will not be counted.

To vote, your email must include your name, address, CAMRA BC branch affiliation and member number. The vote must be sent using the same email address attached to the membership at your branch for communication with you (i.e. the email address where you are receiving this email). Votes must be submitted to ac.cbarmacobfsctd@snoitanimon during the voting period set out above; votes received after the 11:59 pm cut-off on March 15 will not be considered or counted.

Voting at the AGM will be done by show of hands or paper ballot, for those members in attendance at the meeting. After the email voting period has concluded, the Nominations Chair will tally the votes and include the results in the counting of in-person votes during the AGM.
