Rare Brews Beer & Food Festival Returns to beloved Vancouver Pub
8th Annual Rare Brews Festival Returns to Darby’s Pub on Saturday, May 28th
Established in 1981, Darby’s Pub has served Vancouver for over 40 years, during which time they’ve been known as an early supporter of the craft beer scene. In recent years, that support ramped up to the point that they installed a massive wall of over 40 beer and cider taps. But once a year it gets even better than that.
One of What’s Brewing’s favourite opportunities to enjoy this ground-breaking establishment is during their annual Rare Brews event, during which some of BC’s best breweries are invited to really showcase what they can do with one-off and rare creations.
It’s been a few years since patrons were able to gather property to celebrate this yearly destination event, but Rare Brews is BACK in full force next week Saturday, May 28th!
We had a word with publican Brendan Bonfield regarding what attendees can expect at the event. Brendan notes,
We are looking forward to hosting Rare Brews again after two years and showcasing the creativity and skill of BC breweries. Rare Brews is a unique opportunity for guests to try new, rare or limited beers and mingle with folks from 32 of BC’s best breweries in a more intimate setting.
The tickets to Rare Brews include the guest’s food, drinks, and Rare Brews beer glass —no extra costs.
Rare Brews will set you back $80 + fees, but with 32 breweries (see below) doing their best to surprise the most discerning beer geek, it’s one of those events that justifies the investment. To attend, visit Eventbrite and choose between the Matinee and Afternoon sessions.
