Strange Brews: A Creepy Craft Halloween

Strange Brews and forces of ale evil are coming to the Butcher & Bullock this Friday and we’re inviting you to come and help consume the darkness.

Come and join us for the ultimate Craft Beer Halloween shindig. Scary suds and weird beers, vote for your creepiest beer booth and dress to impress/freak out/disgust.

Amongst our regular line up of killer beers, we have some special beers creeping into the line-up for the evening, only one will survive and join our rotator tap.

Category 12 Brewing (Victoria, BC)
Zombie Repellant Ale (ZRA)
Not quite your basic pumpkin ale, in fact quite the opposite. The island folks at Category 12 whipped up this anti-pumpkin ale, to battle the regular fall ale trends. This deadly Belgian Red is all you need in your zombie apocalypse cooler.

Rogue Ales (Newport, OR)
Dead Guy Ale
West coast classic has been around nearly as long as us, a German style Maibock brewed by the infamous fellows at Rogue Ales on the Oregon Coast. I’d gladly take a sixer of this to the afterlife.

Schadenfreude Pumpkin Oktoberfest
“SHädənˌfroidə/ – pleasure derived by someone from another person’s misfortune.” Marzens aren’t easy, nor is spicing them up and dropping a healthy dose of pumpkin into them. The pleasure’s ours, the misfortune’s that of the brewers over at P49 slaving over this annual delight.

Howe Sound Brewing Co. (Squamish, BC)
Pumpkineater Imperial Pumpkin Ale
The opposite of the ZRA, this bad boy will turn you into a zombie. This 8% monster is a highly anticipated annual release from the folks up the Sea to Sky and is part of BC craft beers original gangster, John Mitchell’s signature series.

Tickets are available from the bar in advance or at the door. $15 ticket includes entry plus a 14oz feature draught (above) and terrifying top ups are $5. Doors are at 8pm and we’ll be going until the last man is standing…
